From this viewpoint you can normally see Pikes Peak prominently. But this day it was masked with a heavy veil of snow. These views are the ones that I often favor. I know what is out there, I know what I’m not seeing and that is what allows me to appreciate what is there. When there is such an immense visual spectacle like a grand peak, it is easy to overlook what surrounds it. And here, it is the graduating and fading layers of the foothills that change in intensity as the storm approaches.
